The 2015 Don Johnson Classic will be held at Cypress College from Thursday, December 4th until Saturday, December 6th. The tournament will feature the Cypress Chargers, Cuyamaca Coyotes, Glendale Vaqueros, Irvine Valley Lasers, LA Harbor Seahawks, Rio Hondo Roadrunners, Southwestern Panthers, and the Victor Valley Rams.

Cypress Chargers (6-2) – Cypress is coming off of a third place finish at the Grossmont Tournament last weekend with wins over West LA and Desert. Cypress will lean on sophomore forward Jordan Fleck, who leads the team in scoring (16.6 PPG) and rebounding (7.0 RPG). The Chargers are scrappy on the defensive end of the floor, ranking seventh in the state in opponents' field goal percentage (37.8%) and seventh in opponents' 3PT percentage (27.4%).

Cuyamaca Coyotes (1-5) – Cuyamaca enters the tournament on a three game losing streak with their last win coming against Irvine Valley College on November 13th. Freshman guard Jon Irving leads the Coyotes offense, averaging 17.8 PPG while shooting 51.9-percent from the field. The Coyotes rely on forcing turnovers on the defensive end with six players averaging over one steal per game.

Glendale Vaqueros (2-4) – Glendale is coming off of a consolation championship loss to LA Pierce at the Antelope Valley College Tournament last weekend. Glendale leans on the freshman duo of Cesar Reyes and Ange-Michel Kuo. Michel Kuo leads the team averaging 11.7 PPG while Reyes adds 10.8 PPG. The Vaqueros rely heavily on the three-point shot, averaging 22.5 three-point attempts and 7.2 three-pointers made.

Irvine Valley Lasers (7-2) – Irvine Valley joins Cypress as the only Orange Empire Conference team in this year's tournament field. The Lasers have won two of their last three games including wins over Reedley and Monterey. Irvine Valley relies on a balanced attack with six players averaging over six points per game led by freshman guard Isaiah Milan (12.8 PPG).

LA Harbor Seahawks (2-6) – LA Harbor has dropped four of their last five games with their last win coming on December 4th against MiraCosta. Sophomore guard Dharion Tanner leads the team in points (17 PPG) and rebounds (4.6 RPG) while Dushone Brown chips in 12.1 PPG. The Seahawks rely on their strong defensive play and rim protection as they rank in the top 20 in blocked shots per game.

Rio Hondo Roadrunners (4-6) – Rio Hondo enters the tournament on a two game losing streak with their last win coming against Chaffey on November 21st. Leo Maidana leads the team in points per game (17.7 PPG) and rebounds per game (6.7 RPG). On offense the Roadrunners attack the rim at a high rate resulting in 26.3 free throw attempts per game, ranking tenth in the state. Rio Hondo relies on physical play at the defensive end, ranking third in the state in opponents' field goal percentage (37.3%).

Victor Valley Rams (5-6) – Victor Valley enters the Don Johnson Classic winning three of their last four games. The Rams fell to Moorpark in the Mt. San Antonio Tournament championship game last weekend, 70-60. Victor Valley relies on a balanced attack with six players averaging over six points per game including two averaging double figures. The Rams are led by freshman duo Teon Carter and Joseph Rushing. Carter leads the team averaging 13 PPG while Rushing adds 11.8 PPG and 3.3 RPG.

Southwestern Panthers (6-4) – Southwestern has been victorious in two of their last three games with wins over LA Southwest and San Diego Miramar. The freshman guard tandem of Delano Jones (19 PPG) and Gamaun Boykin (12.4 PPG) lead the Panthers high powered offense. The Panthers rank eleventh in the state in scoring, averaging an astounding 82 points per game while relying heavily on the three-point shot.
