Elijah Skipps' major contributions in the first round of the SoCal Regionals have earned him Charger of the Week (May 2 – May 8). In the opening playoff round against El Camino College, the Chargers swept the series 2-0 to advance to the Super Regional, winning the first game 11-4 and the second game 4-3. Elijah Skipps stood out in the series, hitting 2-for-8 with a homerun, three RBI, three runs, and a walk.

In the first game on May 6, Skipps added an insurance run in the third inning with Willie Aguilar on third base when his grounder to third base was misplayed.  As the third baseman bobbled Skipps' grounder, Aguilar bolted home to give Cypress the 3-0 lead.

The following day, Skipps proved to be the deciding factor in game 2 of the series. Down 2-1 in the third inning with one out and a runner on second, Skipps launched a screaming line drive over the center field wall to give Cypress the 3-1 lead.

The University of Arizona transfer has been one of the best offensive producers on the team. He leads the team with eight homeruns and is second in RBI (30). He has also shown discipline at the plate, batting .347 with 27 walks.
