Women's Water Polo Opens Season 2-1 at Charger Invitational

CYPRESS, CA - The Women's Water Polo Team was off to a hot start with a 2-1 weekend beating Rio Hondo and Santa Monica by a large margin. The team is led by Taylor Weber, Hanah Salazar and Makayla Serrano who contributed 21 goals as a collective in the tournament. They lost to top ranked San Diego Mesa 11-10 in a thrilling opener and Head Coach Mark Canner said after the match, "this game had playoff implications all over it, and we were excited for the challenge. This program is battle tested from the last four seasons making the playoffs, and we know that these early season matchups are just building blocks for later in the year." Some other notable names to watch out for are Jazmine Gonzales, and Hailee Pike who added at least 3 goals to each match this past weekend.

UP NEXT: The Chargers are back in action on Thursday, September 15th at home to welcome Citrus College. Game time is set to start at 5:00PM.
