Women’s Volleyball Set to Face OEC Rival in Second Round of CCCAA Playoffs

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress women's volleyball (17-9, 9-7 OEC) will be on the road at Orange Coast (19-5, 12-4 OEC) on Tuesday, November 22nd for the second round of the CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs.

Being the last team to qualify for a first round bye, the Chargers are entering the postseason with a week's rest. The Pirates are also coming off of a bye after finishing the 2022 season second in the OEC, while Cypress ended the year in fourth.

In the regular season, the Chargers and Pirates met for two conference games. Cypress visited Orange Coast in October and were defeated 3-1. Near the end of the regular season in November at home, the Chargers defeated the Pirates in five sets. In that game Cypress's freshman outside hitter, Shayna Martinez, delivered 33 kills. With that stat, she cemented herself in the Chargers record books with second all time in kills in a single match.

In the CCCAA playoffs, the #5 seed Pirates are now set to host the #12 Chargers. Tuesday's victor will advance in the playoffs and face the winner of the Santa Barbara City/San Diego Mesa game.

Details: Per CCCAA regulations, tickets will be $12 for Adults and $8 for Youth/Students.

Orange Coast College will be hosting the second round of the CCCAA Regional Playoffs and will be following CCCAA regulations.
