SYLMAR, CA - The Chargers traveled to LA Mission College this past weekend to win the tournament beating Citrus (3-0), West LA (3-0), Chaffey (3-1), and Mira Costa (3-1). 

The Women's Volleyball team earned 4 straight wins at the LA Mission Classic with Zoe Munn leading the defensive end of the first match against Citrus with 14 digs. The Chargers swept the Owls in 3 sets (25-16, 25-19, 25-21).  

In the second match, the Chargers defeated West LA College in 3 sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-11) where Anysa Peone-Joe added 6 aces and 10 assists. As well as, Shayna Martinez (11 digs), Jessica Ferreira (7 digs), and Zoe Munn (7 digs) to hold up the defensive end.

On day 2 of the tournament, Freshman, Shayna Martinez (15 digs) and Sophomore, Zoe Munn (13 digs) led the defense as the Chargers faced the Chaffey Panthers to win 3 of 4 sets (25-12, 25-27, 25-22, 25-14). 

The Chargers kept it rolling with a championship victory against MiraCosta College to end the tournament (25-10, 25-14, 25-27, 25-18). Zoe Munn and Shayna Martinez keeping up the defensive effort all weekend long recorded 23 digs each. As a team, the Chargers led the stats in aces (14) over the Spartans (6).

UP NEXT: The Women's Volleyball team will look to continue their winning streak on the road against Long Beach City College tonight (September 7th) at 6:00PM.
