CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress women's volleyball team (23-2, 15-1 OEC) have earned the #4 seed in the upcoming CCCAA Women's Volleyball SoCal Regional Championships. The Chargers will host the #13 seed Grossmont College Griffins on Tuesday, November 23rd in what will be their 10th consecutive regional tournament appearance.
The Chargers will look to carry the momentum of a historic season into the playoffs, holding the best regular season record in Cypress women's volleyball history. They were also crowned the 2021 OEC champions, the fourth conference championship for Cypress under Head Coach Nancy Welliver. The Chargers are 5-5 all-time against Grossmont, with their most recent victory coming this season, defeating the Griffins in four sets (21-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-18) on September 11. Grossmont finished second in the PCAC, with an overall record of 17-4.
The winner of the match will face either #5 Santa Barbara City or #12 Golden West College, if the Chargers win, they will remain at home for the second round. The SoCal regional bracket can be found here.
