#3 Chargers Open Conference Play With a Dominate Win Over Saddleback, 3-0

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress women's volleyball (9-1. 1-0 OEC) hosted the Saddleback Bobcats (4-2, 0-1 OEC) in their first Orange Empire Conference match on Friday night. The Chargers dominated the Bobcats in a stunning 3-0 victory, 25-11, 25-17, 25-12.

Vanila Pulu-Suliafu led the Chargers with 10 digs, 8 kills, and 24 assists. Tainea Allen continued her dominance leading Cypress with nine kills to go along with her 25 attempts. Annabelle Adams celebrated her birthday with five kills and five digs in the game. 

It was Alli Arriolla who shined early on with a key kill to give the Chargers a lead of 11-6 in the first set. Alexis Flores finished the first set for the Chargers with six serves in a row and a 25-11 victory. In set number two, Saddleback kept the game close, but it was Rachel Gonzales who built momentum for the team with an ace, giving the Chargers a lead of 17-13. Cypress ultimately came out on top with Alli Arriolla slamming the match point, 25-17. Set number three looked no different as the Chargers got out to a huge lead, 20-12. Cypress finished on top winning the final set 25-12 and taking the match from the Bobcats 3-0. 

UP NEXT: Chargers take the road to Golden West College on Wednesday, September 22nd to face the Rustlers. The match will begin at 6:00pm.
