Cypress Shuts Out Irvine Valley in 9-0 Victory

CYPRESS, CA - Cypress women's soccer (10-2-2, 5-1-1 OEC) shutout Irvine Valley Lasers (4-10, 3-4 OEC), 9-0.

Cypress picked up where they left off against the Lasers at home. After the Chargers dominated the Fullerton Hornets 8-1 earlier in the week, the home team scored nine against the Lasers.

The Chargers found the net often as Itzel Ramriez scored at the third minute with an assist from Megan Alcantara. Two minutes later, Alcantara put the Chargers up two with her own goal. At the eighth and 12th minute, Morales scored her second and third goal to earn the hat trick.

The end of the first and start of the second half was quiet for the Cypress offense. However at the 61st and 63rd minute, the home team broke through for two additional goals. Carisia Raygoza and Ramriez made it a 6-0 lead. Alcantara scored her second goal of the day at the 66th minute and Morales added another at the 69th. To finish the offensive effort, Morales found the net for her fifth goal of the game, 9-0.

Morales led the scoring with five goals off of her five shots and Alcantara was second with two goals. Ramriez and Raygoza each found the net to aid in the nine goal shutout win. Cypress earned their tenth overall and fifth OEC victory over Irvine Valley.

UP NEXT: Cypress will continue their conference schedule as they will travel to Saddleabck on Friday, October 20th. Kickoff will be at 3pm.
