  • Chargers Advance to SoCal Regional Final on Last Second Basket by Tanya Carbajal

    #12 Cypress Chargers women's basketball (20-10) traveled to #5 Glendale College (19-7) for Round 2 of the CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs. The Chargers were seeded as the underdog, but came to play as they defeated Glendale in OT on a last second shot by Tanya Carbajal. Cypress advances to face #4 Palomar College (25-2) on Saturday, March 5th at 7pm in the SoCal Regional Final. 
  • Cypress Women's Basketball Travels to Glendale College for Round 2 of the CCCAA Playoffs

     #12 Cypress Chargers women's basketball (18-10) will face #5 Glendale College (19-5) in round 2 of the CCCAA State playoffs. The Chargers and Vaqueros will tip off at 7pm on Thursday, March 2nd. 
  • Malia Goldsmith, Jaylene Oviedo and Thao Truong Represent Cypress on All-Conference Team

    The Orange Empire Conference held their annual end of season meeting on Saturday, February 26th. The eight OEC coaches voted three Cypress Chargers to All-Conference honors. Malia Goldsmith and Jaylene Oviedo were selected to the first team while Thao Truong was selected to the second team. 
  • Cypress Celebrates Sophomore Night with 64-50 Victory

    Cypress women's basketball (18-10, 9-3 OEC) hosted the Santa Ana Dons (7-20, 0-12 OEC) in the regular season finale. The Chargers celebrated sophomore night with an exciting 64-50 victory. The Chargers will enter the playoffs next week winning eight of their last ten games as they are poised to make a run at the state championship.
  • Orange Coast Defeats Cypress at the Buzzer, 71-69

    Women's basketball (14-10, 6-3 OEC) hosted the Orange Coast Pirates (16-7, 5-2 OEC) on Wednesday night for their second match of the season. The Chargers and Pirates went down to the wire, but it was Orange Coast who made the final basket with one second to go and propel them to victory, 71-69. 
  • Chargers Take Down Rival Fullerton, 60-53

    Cypress Chargers women's basketball (13-9, 5-2 OEC) hosted in conference rival, Fullerton College (10-12, 3-4 OEC). After a tough first half the Chargers cruised past the Hornets, 60-53, for their second win in a row. 
  • Jaylene Oviedo Shoots the Lights Out as Chargers Roll, 68-47

    The Cypress Chargers (12-9, 4-2 OEC) hosted the Mira Costa Spartans (8-10) in a non-conference matchup on Saturday night. Jaylene Oviedo had a night to remember as she sunk 11 three-pointers, a new Cypress Women's Basketball record, to lead the Chargers to a 68-47 victory. 
  • Women's Basketball Coasts to 80-59 Victory Over Golden West

    The Cypress women's basketball team (11-8, 4-1 OEC) defeated the Golden West Rustlers (9-6, 0-3 OEC) in commanding fashion, 80-59.
  • Cypress Stuns Hornets on the Road, 78-66

    The Cypress women’s basketball team (10-8, 3-1 OEC) travelled to face the Fullerton Hornets (8-9, 1-1 OEC) last night, beating them 78-66 to earn their 3rd conference victory.
  • Chargers Defeat Tigers in OEC Opener, 73-70
    January 12, 2022
    Cypress women's basketball (8-7, 1-0) hosted the Riverside Tigers (7-9, 0-1 OEC) on Wednesday night in the first OEC match of the season. Cypress held off the late push by the Tigers and came out victorious, 73-70. 
  • Chargers Roll in Win Over Compton, 76-22

    Cypress Chargers women's basketball (5-6) hosted the Compton Tartars (1-10) on Wednesday night. The Chargers rolled on their way to a 54-point victory, 76-22. 
  • Jaylene Oviedo and Thao Truong Named to All-Tournament Team at Lady Charger Classic

    The Cypress women’s basketball team (4-6) hosted the 38th annual Lady Charger Classic over the weekend, playing three games in three days. The Chargers faced Grossmont, Palomar and Citrus College finishing with a 1-2 record. Jaylene Ovieda and Thao Truong were named to the All-Tournament team.
  • Cypress Hosts Lady Charger Classic (Dec. 3-Dec. 5)

    Cypress College will host the 38th annual Lady Charger Classic this weekend (Dec. 3 - Dec. 5). The colleges competing in this years classic will be East Los Angeles, El Camino, Palomar, Santa Monica, Compton, Citrus, Grossmont, and Cypress. 
  • Women's Basketball Begin Season With 2-2 Record

    The Cypress Chargers (2-2) have began their 2021-2022 campaign with four straight road games beginning on November 3rd. The Chargers opened up the season with a win at El Camino College and then traveled to Merced College for a three-day tournament against Merced, San Joaquin Delta, and Fresno City College.
