Softball with First Loss of 2023 Season

Cypress, CA - The Chargers (5-1, 0-0 OEC) came up short against Bakersfield Community College, 0-2. 

Cypress gained their first loss of the season against Bakersfield Community College in a tight matchup on Friday afternoon. The first three innings went by quickly with neither team on the scoreboard. Kaitlyn Reynolds and Cameron Curiel both had hits in the second inning. 

Bakersfield was the first team to score in the third inning; with Cypress unable to answer in the bottom of the third, even with hits from Emily Rush and Jaylene Duarte. Bakersfield scored the final point of the game in the fourth inning, making it 2-0. 

Jaylene Duarte led the team in hits with 2. Kaitlyn Reynolds was given her first loss of the season as the starting pitcher for Cypress. 

Up Next - Cypress travels to Orange Coast on February 15th, with a start time of 2pm.
