Cypress Knocks Off #1 Santa Ana, 2-0

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress Chargers (27-10, 15-4 OEC) entered Thursday's game versus the Santa Ana Dons (28-7, 15-4 OEC) one game back of first place in the Orange Empire Conference. The Chargers were able to roll past the Dons, 2-0, while also winning the season series 2-1. 

Emily Rush (7.0 IP) was a stud on the mound for Cypress as she threw a complete game allowing only 2 hits and striking out 3 batters. Camryn Addimando (1-for-3) drove in the only two runs of the game in the bottom of third inning on a single to centerfield scoring Eliza Sandoval and Paige Shafer. Airlin Ramirez of Santa Ana threw the first 2.0 innings for the Dons, but it was Emily Rosas who pitched the final 4.0 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while earning her sixth loss of the season.

UP NEXT: Cypress will play their final home game of the regular season when they host the Riverside Tigers on Monday, April 18th, at 3pm. The Chargers are guaranteed at the minimum to host round one of the OEC tournament on Friday, April 22nd. Stay tuned for more details.
