Cypress Scores 11 Runs in Win Over Golden West

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress Chargers softball (23-7, 12-2 OEC) hosted the Golden West Rustlers (8-14, 2-12 OEC) in an OEC matchup on Monday, April 4th. Cypress was able to get their bats going, defeating Golden West 11-3. 

Chargers first baseman, Paige Shafer, got the scoring started with a triple to left field in the bottom of the first inning. Camryn Addimando followed Shafer's 2 RBI's with one of her own as she hit a sacrifice fly to center field. Emily Rush (3-for-3, 4 RBI) added to the Cypress lead with a RBI double in the second inning as the Chargers led 5-0. Golden West got on the scoreboard in the third inning after Jazmine Rodriguez scored on an error. Another Emily Rush double in the 4th inning would score two more runs for Cypress as the route was on. Isabella Savala pitched all six innings and scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth to enforce the run rule, as the Chargers won 11-3. 

UP NEXT: Cypress will continue their seven game homestand as they host the Orange Coast Pirates on Wednesday, April 6th. First pitch will be at 3pm.
