Water Polo Dominates District Rivals, 16-3

CYPRESS, CA - Men's water polo (10-7, 1-3 OEC) earned their first victory in the OEC against district rival Fullerton College (0-11, 0-4 OEC), 16-3.

The Chargers went off in the first quarter with seven goals by five different team members. Captain, Aydann Hambruch opened the match with a quick goal within 15 seconds of gameplay. Sam Smith made his statement with three made goals in a row and led the team with five goals overall. Cypress held the Hornets to a scoreless first half with an 11-0 lead. The Chargers did not let up in the second half as they put up five more goals to win the game, 16-3.

The team collected 18 steals overall as Nathan Napohaku led the stat with four. Sam Smith earned his season high of five goals and led the Chargers in scoring.   

UP NEXT: Cypress will travel to Santa Monica College for a tournament on Friday, October 13th.
