Chargers Earn their Third Consecutive Win

CYPRESS, CA - Cypress men's soccer (7-8-2, 5-4-1 OEC) defeat the Santiago Canyon Hawks (0-8-2, 3-10-3 OEC), 3-1.

Santiago Canyon got off to an early lead with a goal made from a bounce over the Chargers keeper, 1-0. As the game continued, both teams challenged each other back-and-forth. Then, Cypress forced the draw with a header to the back of the net from Gerardo Serna in the last minutes of the half. Soon after, Steven Ibanez had a break away goal that unfortunately resulted in an offsides.

In the second half, the game was tied 1-1 until Marcus Ponce pushed the ball past the keeper and scored, 2-1. With the game on the line for Santiago, the team became relentless. However, the Chargers were able to defend their lead with an unbelievable bicycle kick finish from Ibanez. Cypress ends the match with a 3-1 victory over the Hawks.
