CYPRESS, CA – The Orange Empire Conference has released the 2021 All-Conference teams for men's soccer. Cypress has five selections; Kian Aminloo, Nomar Ibarra and Alfonso Montano being named to the first team and Kyle O'Brien and Julio Perez named to the second team.
Sophomore defender and Captain Kian Aminloo earned First-Team honors this season after making Second-Team a season ago. Kian played an integral role on the Chargers defense that allowed a league low 13 goals in conference play. The captain also set up the game-winning goal against Golden West late in the game, to give them the much needed victory.
Midfielder and Captain Nomar Ibarra was selected to his second consecutive First-Team after another stellar year for the Chargers. Nomar led the team with 20 points this season to include 7 goals and 6 assists. Ibarra also scored in each of the final four conference match ups, giving his team the offensive boost they needed to finish the season strong.
Sophomore midfielder Alfonso Montano was the third First-Team selection for Cypress. He had an impressive season finishing with 7 goals. Alfonso had three goals in conference play for the Chargers.
Defender Kyle O'Brien earned Second-Team all-conference honors this season. As a freshman, Kyle made his defensive presence known and will look to continue his strong play as the Chargers head into playoff action.
Freshman midfielder Julio Perez was selected to the Second-Team all-conference this season. Perez finished with five goals and two assists overall, with three of those goals coming in conference play. Julio scored a late goal against Santa Ana which initiated the comeback, leading to a tie, 2-2.
The Cypress College men's soccer team will continue their run as the No. 16 seed in the CCCAA playoffs. Cypress will travel to take on No. 1 seeded Mt. Sac on Saturday, November 20th at 4:00pm.
