Point Guard, Tommie Flanagan Signs with Benedictine University

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress Chargers star point guard, Tommie Flanagan, signed his national letter of intent to Benedictine University in Mesa, Arizona on Thursday, May 19th. Flanagan will compete at the NAIA level after two years with the Cypress Chargers. 

Tommie is a physical point guard out of Lakewood High School who led team in assists (3.1) and steals (2.0) while scoring 10.7 points per game. Flanagan was a fantastic on-ball defender for Cypress where he would pick up the opposing point guard full court and constantly disrupt the game. Tommie was a key part in the Chargers victory over Palomar in the first round of the CCCAA playoffs. Flanagan played a team high 43 minutes finishing with 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 6 points.

"What will you miss most about Cypress College?"

 "I am going to miss the coaching staff the most for sure. They were always supportive and always had faith in me."

"As you move on to the next level, what is one key trait you will take from the Cypress coaching staff to the next level?"

"Showing up on time first and foremost. Coach Alhadeff instilled the importance of being on time and that is something that I will take with me to Benedictine. 

"What are you most excited for at Benedictine University?"

"To have a breakout season. I want to impact the game in a variety of ways while helping our team win."

"What is your favorite memory from Cypress College?"

"Hanging out in the coaches office, they all always got jokes so I'm gonna miss that for sure."
