Paul Head Drops 29 Leads Chargers Over Santa Ana, 95-69

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress Chargers (16-11, 8-7 OEC) finished strong in their final home game of the season by taking down the Santa Ana Dons (5-20, 2-13) on Wednesday night. The Chargers will now look to carry their momentum into the final game of the season before heading into the playoffs.

Paul Head led the Chargers off the bench with 29 points shooting 10-14 from the field and 7-11 from the three-point line. Head also racked up six rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Trent Goldmann finished with 14 points shooting 5-6 from the field and 4-5 from the three-point line. Mathis Aiassa and Tommie Flanagan scored eight points each off the bench.

The Dons traded baskets with the Chargers in the first 7 minutes but the Cypress shooting allowed them to pull away. By the time the first half buzzer went off, the Chargers' blew the game open with a 52-28 lead. The Chargers would shoot 18-37 from the three-point line fueled behind Head and Goldmann. The Chargers ball movement remained prominent all-game long as the team finished with 21 assists.

The Chargers bench stepped in well as they took on the scoring load off the starters, giving them a much needed rest heading into their final game. 

UP NEXT: The Chargers' final game of the regular season is scheduled on the road against Riverside on Friday, February 25th, at 5 PM.
