Coach Alhadeff Earns 100th Win in Victory Over Golden West

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress Chargers (10-6, 2-2 OEC) traveled to Golden West College (5-9, 0-3 OEC) on Friday afternoon to take on the Rustlers in their first match up this season. Coach Andrew Alhadeff earned his 100th victory as head coach of the Chargers in a 99-71 win over the Rustlers.

Coach Andrew Alhadeff took over as head coach at Cypress College in 2014 after spending eight seasons as the associate head coach at Irvine Valley College. In his first year as head coach, Alhadeff led his team to 11 wins and finished 6th in the conference. The following year, in the 2015-2016 season, Coach Alhadeff and his team posted a 22-7 record and finished second in conference. This was Cypress' first 20-win season since 1993 and ended a 15-year playoff drought for the program. Coach Drew has posted four winning seasons and has an overall winning percentage of 53%. He has led his team to the playoffs three times in his tenure and has only finished in the bottom half of the conference once in six years.

UP NEXT: The Chargers have a quick turn around as they will face the Saddleback Bobcats on the road, Monday January 24th. The game was originally scheduled for December 30th, but due to health and safety protocols the game will tip-off Monday night at 5pm.
