Cypress Chargers Baseball Season Ends in SoCal Regionals

CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress Chargers baseball team concluded their season in the first round of the 3C2A SoCal Regionals. As the No. 21 seed, the Chargers faced off against LA Valley College over the weekend of May 3-4.

In game one, Cypress battled hard but fell short against the Monarchs with a final score of 8-7. The game was evenly matched, with both teams recording ten hits and committing one error each. The Chargers lost their lead in the sixth inning after LA Valley hit three home runs, putting them ahead 5-4. Despite a strong comeback in the seventh inning, Cypress couldn't secure the win, ultimately falling to the Monarchs.

The Chargers entered game two with determination, knowing it was a must-win situation. However, LA Valley proved to be a tough opponent, securing the victory and ending Cypress's season.

Cypress baseball finished the season with an overall record of 23-18-1. The team saw seven student-athletes recognized on the All-OEC team. Albert De La Rosa, Jack Burke, and Evan Rolbiecki were named to the First Team, while Brandon Wyland, Jack Pavlovsky, Ryan Skjonsby, and Luke Matlock earned Second Team Honors.
