Mascaro's Big Bat Leads Cypress Over Citrus, 14-6

CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress Chargers (7-6) hosted the Citrus Owls (6-8) on Friday afternoon. The Chargers kept their big bats going as they exploded for 14 runs and won their third game in a row. 

Nick Mascaro (3-for-4) had a huge day in the box as he homered two times (402' ft & 379' ft) to the spark the Cypress offense. Mascaro added a triple in the fifth inning to notch his fourth RBI on the day. Cade Leifer was 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and 2 runs scored. Luke Honikel (2-for-4) knocked in two runs for his team leading ninth and tenth RBI's on the season, but Mario Tostado (1-for-2) came off bench and launched a homerun over the left field wall to regain the team lead with his tenth and eleventh RBI of the season. Eddie Hacopian had another solid game out of the lead off spot batting 2-for-5 with a double while scoring three runs. Trey Seely (5.0 IP) got the start on the mound for Cypress as he struck out three batters and allowed two earned runs over his five innings pitched. 

UP NEXT: The Chargers will look to continue their streak as they host Palomar College tomorrow, Saturday February 26th, at 12PM.
