Two Pairs Secure their Spots at Regionals

IRVINE, CA - Cypress Beach Volleyball delivered a standout performance at the OEC Pairs Championships at Irvine Valley College, with two out of four teams advancing to the quarterfinals and securing spots in the upcoming 3C2A State Regionals. The team's impressive showing marked a significant improvement over last year's performance, with only one team representing at Regionals.

One of the standout performances came from the No. 1 pair, Kaelyn Arnold and Rose Whitter, who faced a tough match against fellow teammates, Larissa Samano and Hailey Church in the second round. Despite the challenge, Arnold and Whitter emerged victorious in three sets, (14-21, 21-13, 15-12).

Another strong showing came from the No. 4 pair, Zoe Ziegler and Jessica Ferreira, who had a remarkable run in the tournament. As the No. 4 seed, Ziegler and Ferreira defeated Saddleback College's No. 1 pair and Riverside College's No. 2 pair to advance to the quarterfinals.

Although Andrea Briseno and Ashlyn Riddle faced a tough loss in their first match against a strong Orange Coast College team, their performance was commendable, pushing their opponents to a third-set tiebreaker.

With the two teams advancing to the quarterfinals and securing spots in regionals, the team has shown tremendous growth and potential this season.

Cypress Beach Volleyball will look to build on this success as they continue their season, aiming for further victories and accomplishments on the sand.
