Two Chargers Pairs Make All-OEC Honors

CYPRESS, CA – The Orange Empire Conference has released the All-Conference teams for the 2023 beach volleyball season. Cypress had two pairs selected to the Second Team, Kailee de Wit and Kiana Salamone as well as Zoe Munn and Kaelyn Arnold

Kailee de Wit 

de Wit found success at the start of the season with her set win against Life Pacific. Her impressive start helped the team win their first two matches as Cypress swept Santa Monica. Against Bakersfield, de Wit won the second set with her partner Larissa Samano to break the set tie. The team would go on to defeat the Renegades 3-2 in the final set. de Wit would continue to help the team win with her set wins to shutout Riverside and complete the season sweeps of Golden West and Santa Ana. 

Kiana Salamone

Salamone jump started the team as she contributed in the squad's first sweep against Santa Monica. She would partake in the teams second sweep of the season against Riverside and come up big in the close win over the Santa Ana Dons. Salamone played an important role as she would perform in the third sets of matches. She would go on to play in the final three consecutive wins to season sweep the Golden West Rustlers and Santa Ana Dons. Her performances in the middle sets would help break ties and boost the team to their victories.


Zoe Munn 

Munn jump started the Cypress Chargers season with the first set win in the sweep against Santa Monica. From there, she played a key role in the team's shutout win over district rival Fullerton College. In the one set win over the Saddleback Bobcats, Munn set the tempo as she paired up with Kaelyn Arnold for the first time in the season. Her and Arnold repeated as they opened the Riverside victory with a first set win. In Munn's final set win, she lifted the team over the Santa Dons to aid in the season sweep. 

Kaelyn Arnold 

Arnold achieved her first set win in the sweep of Santa Monica and repeated in the shutout victory over Fullerton College. Her performance in the Bakersfield win was crucial as she gave the Chargers the first set win of the match. In their first match as a pair, Arnold and Munn opened the close Saddleback victory with a win. The two would do the same in the sweep against the Riverside Tigers. Arnold's play helped the team season sweep the Santa Ana Dons and finish the season with double-digit match victories.
