Long Beach City College Secures a 4-3 Win Over LA Mission College in Extra Innings

In an exciting baseball showdown, the Long Beach City College baseball squad secured a thrilling 4-3 victory in the 10th inning against LA Mission College. Pitcher Jay Carr (1-0) claimed the win on the mound by fanning two Eagles in the decisive inning.

The Vikings made their presence known early, with catcher Luke Davis delivering an RBI single to bring in center fielder Xander McLaurin. Continuing their offensive momentum in the bottom of the third, shortstop Olin Snakenborg singled to center field, scoring second baseman Reef Danner and pushing the Vikings ahead 2-0.

However, the Eagles countered in the fifth inning, notching two runs to level the score at 2-2. As the game extended into extra innings, the Eagles added another run, seizing a 3-2 lead.

Facing a crucial moment with two outs and pinch runner Davis Grawey stationed on third, pinch hitter Adrian Aviles came through with an RBI single to knot the game. The momentum persisted as right fielder Brett Abudayyeh smashed a single, allowing third baseman James Provencio to cross the plate and secure the 4-3 victory for the Vikings.

The Vikings are set to return to the diamond on Friday, Feb. 2, facing off at LA Valley College at 2 p.m.
