Roger Flanders has been a part of the Sports Information/Marketing Department for Cypress College Athletics since Fall of 2022. Prior to employment in Spring of 2023, Flanders interned for Cypress College Athletics.

At Cypress, he served as the primary journalist for home games, playoff contests and events for Cypress College Athletics for all 14 intercollegiate programs. Flanders also performed game day statistics for both fall and spring time sports. 

Flanders pursued journalism and public relations at California State University, Long Beach for the Daily 49er. After completing his Bachelor’s in Journalism in 2021, he continued his education at the university. 

In 2021, he started his athletics journey in the Masters of Kinesiology, Sports Management program at CSULB. Flanders had the opportunity to become a brand ambassador at the professional level with the Los Angeles Chargers, Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Rams. He finished the Sports Management program in 2022. 

Fall of 2022, Flanders joined the Sports Information and Marketing team at Cypress College Athletics. There, he became the primary writer and public relations liaison as he wrote, edited and published pieces to the athletics website. Flanders also learned how to manage the athletics website through Presto Sports, coordinate media days and conduct statistics for the fall and spring sports.

In October of 2023, he took his skills and training to Golden West College where he would take on the sports information and marketing responsibilities. He adopted event operations duties to coordinate umpires, visiting teams and outside contractors. 

Flanders currently works at both Cypress College and Golden West College within the Orange Empire Conference. He is pursuing full time employment in sports information at the collegiate athletics level.

Roger resides in Garden Grove, CA and is an avid NFL and MLB fan.
