FULLERTON, CA – The Cypress College women's water polo team (2-2, 0-2 OEC) fell to district rival Fullerton (5-1, 2-0 OEC) in an Orange Empire Conference battle on Tuesday, 13-9.

The Chargers were able to apply some pressure to the now first place Hornets, as they entered the first minute of the fourth quarter tied 8-8. However, Fullerton ended the game on a 5-1 to steal the victory away from a much improved Cypress team.

Natasha Velez led the Chargers with a game-high 7 goals on 12 shots, while Joana Marquez and Ailien Nguyenly added a goal each.

The women's water polo team will look to get back above the .500 mark when they return to action in the Mt. San Antonio Tournament this Friday and Saturday. Game times and opponents are still TBA.
