OJAI, CA - Cypress College duo, Diana Dao and Kalie Laubie, bowed out of the Ojai Tournament on Saturday after being eliminated in the round of 16. The No. 9 seed won their first two matches in the single-elimination tournament before falling to the #2 seed Diana Barcelata and Joelle Huelse of Cañada College. Dao also participated in the singles tournament as a No. 14 seed, where she was eliminated in the round of 32.

Dao and Laubie kicked off the doubles tournament with a resounding victory over Rio Hondo's unseeded pair Delia Hidalgo and Nicole Robbins (6-1, 6-1). They advanced through the round of 32 in another lopsided victory over the No. 10 seed Kaitlynn Mayfield and Monica Poole (6-2, 6-1) from Modesto Junior College. The pair had a close game against the heavily favored No. 2 seed Barcelata and Huelse, taking the first set 6-3; however, the Cañada pair came back with a 6-3 and 10-5 set to take the match.

In the singles tournament, Diana Dao swept Liz Martinez from College of the Sequoias with a pair of 6-0 sets. However, the freshman had trouble against the No. 4 seed Paula Cenusa from Cabrilla College as she lost both sets 6-3 and 6-1.
