Cypress Chargers Dominate College of the Desert in 4-0 Shutout

CYPRESS, CA - The No. 1 Cypress Chargers (18-1-3, 11-1-2 OEC) women's soccer team delivered an electrifying 4-0 victory over No. 16 College of the Desert (17-3-3, 7-0-3 IEAC) at home to secure their spot in Round 3 of the 3C2A SoCal Regionals.

The game began amidst a drizzle, with play concentrated in the center of the field for most of the first half. Cypress demonstrated offensive pressure early, outshooting the Roadrunners 5-2 in shots on goal but remained scoreless going into halftime.

The second half saw a surge in Charger dominance. Gritsey Ramirez ignited the momentum with back-to-back headers that found the net, giving Cypress a commanding 2-0 lead. Not to be outdone, Megan Alcantara added her name to the scoreboard with two consecutive goals, skillfully assisted by Itzel Ramirez and Kristine Ramirez.

UP NEXT: The victory propels Cypress into the next round, where they will host the winner of the Santa Monica versus Southwestern matchup. The Round 3 showdown is set for Tuesday, November 26, at 1:30 p.m.
