No. 8 Chargers Earn Draw with No. 1 Fresno, 0-0

VENTURA, CA – The Cypress College women's soccer team, who entered the season ranked No. 8 in the nation, looked to bounce back after a tough season opening loss to No. 12 College of the Canyons in Saturday's matchup against No. 1 ranked Fresno City College. The Lady Chargers came ready to play and drew a 0-0 result against the top-ranked Rams at Ventura College, moving them to 0-1-1 on the year.

The Chargers were neck and neck with the Rams through two halves, both teams unable to capitalize on their opportunities.  Morgan Patea and Audree Campos led the team with two shots on goal each. Also, tallying a shot for the Chargers were Taleah Carter, Raquel Gonzales, and Elena Lucero.

Playing 90 minutes and earning a clean sheet in goal for the Chargers was Tabetha Macedo. Macedo faced 4 shots from the Rams and denied all 4 shots. She played a significant role in the Chargers backline, anchoring the defense. The women look to improve their record Tuesday, September 4 at 6:00pm as they travel to take on the Southwestern Jaguars.
