IRVINE, CA – Cypress College women's soccer picked up a big win on the road over Irvine Valley College on Tuesday, 4-1. The victory keeps the Chargers in the Orange Empire Conference's second slot with just three games remaining in the regular season.

Cypress sophomore Mary Dynda opened the scoring on a pass from Julissa Zuniga to take an early 1-0 lead (28:32). Irvine Valley responded with a goal of their own late in the half to tie the game 1-1 at the break.

The Chargers dominated the Lasers in the second half. Sophomore Kristen Nolan found the back of the net two minutes into the second half on Zuniga's second assist of the game to take a 2-1 lead. Freshman Renae Francis netted her third goal of the season with a header after a beautiful assist from Dynda (59:24).

Nolan added an insurance goal late in the game as Cypress cruised to a 4-1 victory.

Women's soccer will return to action at home on Friday against Orange Coast College. Cypress took their first meeting on the road, 2-1, and the Pirates currently sit a game back of the Chargers in the OEC standings. Kick-off is at 3:00 pm.
