Women's Basketball: Four More Lady Chargers Sign to Four-Year Schools

CYPRESS, CA – Cypress College women's basketball program had four more sophomores sign on to play at four-year universities next season, bringing the Lady Chargers' total to five four-year transfers. Sophomores Hannah Avila-McArthur, Nicole Miller, Teresa Torres, and Nataly Cruz each made their selections together in front of teammates, friends, and family.

Hannah Avila-McArthur, Eastern Nazarene College

The 2019 All-Orange Empire Conference Second Team selection helped lead the Lady Chargers to back-to-back CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoff appearances. Avila-McArthur finished her Cypress career with career per-game averages of 9.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.5 steals, while shooting at a 60-percent clip. The La Habra High School alumna plans to major in Criminal Justice and become a police officer after earning her degree. Eastern Nazarene College competes in NCAA Division III as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

Nicole Miller, Notre Dame De Namur

Miller has been the Chargers best player off the bench the two seasons for the Chargers. The Rosary Academy alumna averaged 8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game for her career, while shooting 47-percent from the field. The 6'2 center showed flashes of excellence on both ends of the floor. Miller was able to get off her shot at will and contest shots in the paint on the defensive end. Notre Dame De Namur competes in NCAA Division II as a member of the PacWest Conference.

Teresa Torres, Multnomah University

Torres started 48 games at guard in her two seasons for the Lady Chargers. The Cerritos High School alumna averaged 2.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game for her career. Torres was an x-factor on defense for the Chargers, often tasked with guarding the opponent's top ball handler. Multnomah competes in the NAIA as a member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

Nataly Cruz, Walla Walla University

Cruz started 16 games at forward in her two seasons for the Chargers. The Santa Ana High School alumna averaged 2.6 points and 3 rebounds per game for her career. Cruz's size and craftiness were impactful off the bench in the Chargers' deep rotation of frontcourt talent. Walla Wall University competes in the NAIA as a member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
