Alyssa Gutierrez is in her third year as the pitching coach for the Chargers. Gutierrez played an integral role in Cypress winning the State Championship in 2006 where she pitched a two-hit shutout and was named Most Valuable Player.
Alyssa served as the pitching coach at Lubbock Christian University in 2011 and the assistant softball coach at Cerritos High school from 2012-2014 before joining Cypress. She brings a plethora of coaching experience to the coaching staff and is vital to the Chargers pitcher’s success.
Once her playing career was over at Cypress, she went on to play at Lubbock Christian University where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree and earned numerous accolades. Her career record was 66-7 and an ERA of 1.52. Gutierrez holds the NAIA record with a 90.4 win percentage and was named 1st Team All-SAC and a NFCA All-American in 2009 and 2010.
