By Wes McCurtis

CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress College softball team (36-0, 18-0 OEC) clinched their third consecutive outright Orange Empire Conference Title with a 12-0 victory over Riverside City College at home on Wednesday.

The Chargers softball program has now collected 22 Conference Titles since 1990, including 15 of the last 16 seasons. Cypress currently has a tight grip on California's No. 1 ranking as the only undefeated team remaining in the state. The Chargers have won 36 consecutive games this season, which ties the longest unbeaten streak in program history.

"I think they rank right up there with the best teams we've ever had. We have all of the tools that make us great," said Head Coach Brad Pickler, who is just 2 victories away from capturing his 1,300th career win. "We've had a lot of teams win it all so we still need to see if this team can finish the job."

The Chargers will look to make history with a potential 37th consecutive victory on Friday when they travel to take on Golden West College at 2:00 p.m. Coach Pickler can earn his 1,300th win this Saturday when Cypress hosts El Camino College at 1:00 p.m. Cypress won their first matchup with the Warriors this season on the road in extra innings, 5-4.
