CYPRESS, CA - In a non-conference soccer match at their home turf, the Cypress Chargers faced the Moorpark Raiders and came away with a 3-2 victory, boosting their season record to 4-1-1.
The Chargers struck first when Jesse Gonzalez sprinted on a breakaway, slipped past the goalie, and set up Erick Grimaldo with a short pass for a wide-open goal to take a 1-0 lead. The momentum continued as Issac Morales fed Jacob De La Rosa cutting down the right side of the box, who buried a shot past the diving Moorpark keeper to make it 2-0 at halftime. Gonzalez's speed and vision were key in building the early cushion, while first-half goalkeeper Victor Enciso kept the Raiders off the board with steady play.
Moorpark mounted a second-half push, but Cypress's defense held firm. After several close attempts, Issac Morales finally found the net himself, delivering the eventual game-winner and capping an all-around standout performance that included his earlier assist. Gonzalez's two assists and Morales's goal-and-assist effort highlighted the team's balanced attack.
