Chargers Finish 2nd in Final Regular Season Match

ARROYO TRABUCO, CA – The Cypress men's golf team was edged out by Orange Coast in the final Orange Empire Conference match of the regular season on Monday at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo. The two teams are now in a two-way tie entering the final 36-hole conference championship tournament, which will take place April 29 at the Royal Vista golf course in Walnut.

Cypress finished the Arroyo Trabuco course with a total of 383 points, just 9-points behind course leader, Orange Coast who had 374 points. Cypress' very own, David Marris finished the course with 72-points earning him the two spot. Marris leads the OEC pack for top individual honors with a 72.1 scoring average.

Cypress enter the conference championship alongside Orange Coast tied with 32 wins this season, and Mt. SAC 3 wins behind the leaders. All six OEC teams will play in the conference championship with the top three teams advancing to the CCCAA South Regional Championship on May 6 at the Los Serranos Country Club in Chino Hills along with two individuals.
