Three Chargers Earn All-OEC Honors

CYPRESS, CA- The Orange Empire Conference held their annual end of season meeting on Saturday, February 26th. The nine OEC coaches voted two Cypress Chargers, Tommie Flanagan and Grant Sii, to the All-OEC second team and Trent Goldmann was selected as an honorable mention. 

Tommie Flanagan was a defensive specialist for the Chargers averaging 2.0 steals per game, but he also was the leading scorer for Cypress in conference play averaging 12.1 ppg. Flanagan shot 40% from the field and 34% from three-point range. The second-year guard also pulled down 4 boards per game along with 3 assists. 

Grant Sii was the starting point guard for Cypress in his freshman season averaging 12.0 ppg and 2.7 assists. Sii scored 20+ points in four games this season and shot 33% from three-point range. 

Trent Goldmann was a sharpshooter for Cypress this season shooting 40% from three and averaging 10.6 ppg. Goldmann had a career high 31 points against College of the Canyons in a 86-73 win on December 9th. The freshman knocked down a career high five three-pointers against Fullerton College on February 21st. Goldmann reached double figures in scoring twelve times this season.

SoCal Regionals: Six Orange Empire Conference teams qualified for the CCCAA Southern California Regionals. Making it to the postseason were No. 1 seed Fullerton (24-3 overall), No. 5 Santiago Canyon (22-5), No. 6 Riverside City (22-6), No. 13 Irvine Valley (18-10), No. 17 Saddleback (17-11), and No. 19 Cypress (16-12).
