Sophomore catcher, Eric Bigani, earned his first career Charger of the Week Award on the team bus prior to leaving for College of the Desert on Thursday. Bigani helped the Chargers defeat Compton College in the season opener at home on Friday, 21-2.

Bigani stepped up to the plate three times during the game and all three times earned a hit for the Chargers. Bigani doubled in his first at bat with a hard hit ball to left field, bringing in one run. His next at bat came in the bottom of the third where he made a sacrifice fly to bring in another run for the Chargers. He finished with a double to right center field, earning his third RBI.

The Esperanza High School alumnus followed up 2-for-3 | 3 RBI performance against Compton by going 2-for-4 in a 4-3 loss to Chaffey College on Saturday.

Bigani had a .284 batting average last season in 34 games for the Chargers with one homerun.
