Women’s Water Polo won three games at Mt. SAC Classic

(Walnut, CA) After losing the opening game at the 25th Annual Mt. SAC Classic, the Mounties reeled off three consecutive wins at the Marie T. Mills Aquatics Center on Friday and Saturday (September 23, 24).

Freshman driver Nature Reep led the Mounties with 15 goals in the four games. Sophomore Alexis Ramirez added seven goals.

Saddleback 14, Mt. SAC 8

Reep led with five goals on eight shots in the loss to the Bobcats, while Xen Allen had three steals.

Sophomore goalie Jahanna Palmer had five saves and two steals for the Mounties.

Mt. SAC 11, Cypress 9

Reep again led with six goals, followed by three goals and five steals from Ramirez. Palmer had 10 saves.

Leading, 9-8, after three periods, the Mounties held on for the win, as they scored twice in the fourth period to a lone goal by Cypress.

Mt. SAC 14, Santa Monica 1

Allen and Jayde Gutierrez (5 Steals) led the Mounties with three goals each.

The Mounties scored all 14 goals before the Corsairs could score in the fourth period.

Mt. SAC 10, Palomar 7

Reep and Alyssa Fox led with three goals each with Ramirez scoring two and having four steals.

The Mounties held a three-goal lead, 8-5, heading into the fourth period and held on for the win.

Mt. SAC continues South Coast Conference action on Wednesday (September 28) as they host Pasadena City College.
