Fullerton showed why they are the No.1 team in the Orange Empire Conference by hammering Cypress College on the road Tuesday 5-0.
The Hornets (8-1-2) are currently in first place in the OEC with Golden West College (8-2) still breathing down their neck just one game back.
The first goal of the game did not happen until the 32-minute mark on a shot by Ryu Ichihara. The assist was by Marco Polo.
Six minutes later, Oliver Meza knocked in another goal on a header for FC with the assist coming from Danny Abrego-Fulton.
The Hornets made it 3-0 just before the halftime whistle in the 45th minute when Danny Abrego-Fulton got one past the Charger's goalie on a penalty kick.
Paul Gonzalez took a pass from Steve Perez in the 68th minute for FC's fourth goal, and then AJ Yazid scored the fifth and final goal on a header with the assist coming from Angel Ponce.
Hornet goalie Kevan Rehmani had 3 saves for his 7th shutout win for the season.
Up Next: The Hornets (13-2-2 overall, 8-1-2 OEC) have a by this Friday but will be back in action on Tuesday, October 30th when they host Norco College. Game time is at 3:00 pm.
