CYPRESS, CA- Cypress men's soccer Sophomore Forward, Julio Perez, earned his first Charger of the Week Award for his performance during Santiago Canyon College last week.
Perez had one assist and earned his season high of two goals in the 3-1 victory over Santiago Canyon.
"Julio has been influential with the two goals and the assist against the Hawks. He is a strong offensive player that creates many scoring opportunities which helps contributes to the team offensive organization," said Head Coach Cristian Rus.
In addition to the win against the Hawks, the Chargers held the Fullerton Hornets to a draw, 1-1.
Cypress sits fourth in the Orange Empire Conference standings.
Perez is the third student-athlete on the team to earn the Charger of the Week award.
