CYPRESS, CA - Cypress women's water polo captain, Taylor Weber, earns Charger of the Week for her initiative and outstanding defense during last week's performance at the Mountie Classic hosted by Mt. San Antonio College.
Weber scored 2 goals and had 3 steals in the first game of the tournament against No. 8 ranked, Mt. SAC. In the second match, she contributed 2 goals, 1 assist, and 3 steals against Palomar College. The Chargers finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.
Mark Canner, Head Water Polo Coach, said, "Taylor has been a leader both in and out of the pool. As our captain, she has truly helped guide our team this year with eight new freshmen. She is the backbone of our team defense as our center defender."
The Chargers 9-7 win over Palomar keeps playoff potential alive. "Taylor was a major part of that both on the offensive and defensive ends of the pool", Coach Canner added.
UP NEXT: Cypress women's water polo will host Saddleback College on Wednesday, October 5th. Game begins at 3:00PM.
