Bio
Brianna Gonzales-Harwell joined Cypress College as a full-time Athletics Counselor after serving in the California Community College system since 2017. She brings extensive experience in student-athlete counseling, eligibility, and compliance, along with a strong background in supporting first-generation students, foster youth, and other underrepresented communities.
 
Before Cypress, Brianna worked as an adjunct counselor in the Kinesiology/Athletics department at Chaffey College, taught a student-athlete career and life exploration course, and served in EOPS/NextUP/CalWorks. She also led Chaffey’s Women’s Volleyball program from 2017–2021, earning two Coach of the Year awards and guiding the team to a 2019 conference championship.
 
A graduate of the University of La Verne, Brianna earned both her undergraduate degree and a Master of Science in Educational Counseling with a concentration in Spanish Bilingual Bicultural Counseling. As a student-athlete, she was a two-time AVCA All-American and helped lead her team to multiple conference and regional championships.
 
Originally from Whittier, California, Brianna is passionate about promoting student success, equity, and access in both academics and athletics.
