Collin Gladys grew up in Yorba Linda and began his competitive swimming career at the age of 6 with Anaheim Aquatics following in his brothers footsteps. Several years later he moved on to Irvine Novaquatics where he set over 10 Southern California age group records and several U.S. National Age group records. As an age group swimmer for Nova he was named to the USA Swimming National Select Team, held numerous team records for this nationally ranked swim club and achieved Junior National and Senior National times in several events as well as an Olympic Trial time in his 100 Breast and 100 Fly. 

In addition to swimming club, Collin swam 4 years at Esperanza High School. He achieved 14 High School All American times, Sunset League Champion 4 years and MVP 2 years, was CIF Division 1 Champion 2 years and CIF Masters Champion 2 years. Set high school records in many events and a League record in the 200 IM. He was also named on the All County team 4 years in a row. 

Collin began his collegiate career at Arizona State University, where as a Freshman he finished 6th in the 200 IM at the Pac 10 Conference Championships and was a consolation finalist in both the 100 and 200 Breast. Collin ranks in the All Time top 10 fastest times in ASU history in the 200 Breast and 200 IM and as part of the 400 Medley Relay. He transferred to University of Redlands after the men’s program was cut at ASU. At Redlands he achieved NCAA Division 3 All-America honors 7 times and All-America Honorable Mention 13 times. He was the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champion in the 200 IM 3 years in a row, 100 Breast 2 years and 100 Fly 2 years. Collin achieved All SCIAC Honors 3 years along with several school and conference records. And he was the NCAA Division 3 National Champion in the 200 IM and several top 5 finishes in the 100 Breast. 

Collin graduated from the University of Redlands in 2012 with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology. He is currently working on his Masters Degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. The last 3 years he has assisted with summer training at Esperanza High School. He currently resides in Yorba Linda and is the Head Swim Coach for Men and Women at Yorba Linda High School. During his first year as Head Coach, the Mustangs went undefeated in league conference meets and finished the season as Co-League Champions. 

Collin’s training philosophy is to focus on technique and drill first, in order to make the swimmer faster and to prevent injuries. His belief is that quality supersedes quantity and combines various dry-land activities with a concentration on high-intensity sets offering a competitive experience throughout the workouts.
