Women's Water Polo Defeated In Round One of SoCal Regionals

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress women's water polo team (11-11-1, 3-5 OEC) traveled to Citrus College for round one of the CCCAA SoCal Regional Championship. The Chargers fought hard but fell short to the Citrus Owls, 9-6.

Cypress had a challenging season, but multiple players put together impressive stats of their own. The offensive star of the team, Sam Worley, led the team with 70 goals scored on the year placing her at second overall in the OEC. Goalie, Emma Marsh, had a spectacular season as she led the OEC with 71 steals and placing third in saves at 186.  

As a team the Chargers battled all season, but managed to showcase some impressive victories. To begin OEC play, Cypress went on a four game win streak as they took down Saddleback (11-3), Citrus (10-9), Rio Hondo (15-1), and Golden West (9-5). A couple weeks later, they recorded the most goals scored this season in a win over Rio Hondo, 18-4. The Chargers crushed Golden West, 10-1, in round one of the OEC Championships for their final victory of the season. After a three game losing streak Cypress struggled to finish the season placing fourth overall in the Orange Empire Conference.
