Cypress Falls to Irvine Valley

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress women's volleyball (15-7, 7-5 OEC) lost in three sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-20) against the Irvine Valley Lasers (15-4, 11-1 OEC).

The Chargers battled in the opening set before falling 25-22. 

In the second set, Cypress took the lead early on as Victoria Reza (10 assists) sparked the Chargers with a service ace, 7-5. Then came Shayna Martinez (18 kills, 2 block assists) with the hammer kill against the Lasers, 8-5. Unfortunately, the Chargers started to lose momentum as the Lasers came back and put the set away, 25-20.

The Lasers led the Chargers 2-0 heading into the third set. Each team traded points and it was Jubilee Allen (2 block assists) who hit back-to-back kills down the middle that led the Chargers at the start of the set. Unfortunately, Cypress did not keep the lead and the Lasers ran away with the match victory, 3-0.

UP NEXT: The Chargers will travel to Riverside City College on Wednesday, November 2nd. Match will begin at 6PM.
