Cypress Chargers volleyball finished a historical season with a 23-3 record to go along with their Orange Empire Conference Championship. The volleyball team was recognized at the state and conference level as seven athletes earned eight awards.
The Cypress women’s volleyball team (23-2, 15-1 OEC) have earned the #4 seed in the upcoming CCCAA Women’s Volleyball SoCal Regional Championships. The Chargers will host the #13 seed Grossmont College Griffins on Tuesday, November 23rd in what will be their 10th consecutive regional tournament appearance.
The #5 ranked Cypress Chargers (23-2, 15-1 OEC) hosted the 20th ranked Orange Coast Pirates (18-5, 11-4 OEC) on Friday night in the final conference match of the season. The Chargers won in straight sets (25-19, 25-9, 25-11) finishing a near-perfect conference season.
The Cypress Women's volleyball team (21-2, 13-1 OEC) took on the visiting Irvine Valley Lasers (13-4, 9-3 OEC) in a thrilling 5 set match (17-25, 26-28, 25-9, 25-23, 15-11) on Friday night! The Chargers came back from a 0-2 deficit to shock the Lasers and clinch a share of the OEC title.
The Cypress Women’s Volleyball team (19-2, 10-1 OEC) hosted Santa Ana College (6-13, 1-11 OEC) on Friday night. The Chargers defeated the Dons in four sets (25-17, 21-25, 25-15, 25-16).
The Cypress Women's volleyball team (18-1, 10-0 OEC) took down the visiting Golden West Rustlers (11-5, 5-4 OEC) in a nail biting 5 set match (25-18, 24-26, 22-25, 25-17, 15-11) on Friday night.
The Cypress Chargers Women's Volleyball team (15-1, 7-0 OEC) defeated the visiting Riverside College Tigers (5-8, 2-5 OEC) in straight sets (25-13, 25-11, 25-23) on Friday night.
The Cypress Chargers women's volleyball team (10-1, 2-0 OEC) played Fullerton College (7-7, 1-2 OEC) at home in an exhilarating Friday night game. Though tested, the Chargers ended up defeating Fullerton College in four sets (25-20, 25-27, 25-16, 27-25).
Cypress women's volleyball (9-1. 1-0 OEC) hosted the Saddleback Bobcats (4-2, 0-1 OEC) in their first Orange Empire Conference on Friday night. The Chargers dominated the Bobcats in a stunning 3-0 victory, 25-11, 25-17, 25-12.
Cypress women's volleyball (8-1) traveled to San Diego Mesa College on Friday and Grossmont College on Saturday for a four-game series against Canyons, San Diego Mesa, Grossmont, and LA Mission. The Chargers returned home with a 4-0 record dropping only two sets in the four games. Freshman Libero, Zoe Munn, had an excellent showing which earned her CCCWVCA State Player of the Week.
The #21 Cypress Chargers Volleyball team (4-1) hosted the #14 Long Beach City Vikings (2-3) on Wednesday night. Cypress took a stunning 3-1 victory over Long Beach City in a four set match, 24-26, 25-19, 25-22, 25-17.
The Cypress Chargers volleyball team (3-1) hosted the El Camino Warriors (2-3) on Friday night in their second home game of the season. The Chargers rallied to take down the Warriors in four sets, 25-15, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20.
The Cypress Chargers (2-1) returned to Don Johnson Court on Wednesday night to host the Chaffey Panthers (0-3) for their first home match of the 2021 season. The Chargers took down the Panthers for the second time this season, 3-0.
Cypress women's volleyball began their season with a double-header at Pasadena City College on Friday, August 27th. The Chargers took down Chaffey College in their first match (3-0) before falling to the Pasadena Lancers (3-1).
