Women's Volleyball: Owens, Woodward, Corona & Pilkington Receive All Conference Honors

CYPRESS, CA- The Cypress women's volleyball team finished the regular season with a 17-8 overall record and a 12-4 record in the Orange Empire Conference. During the annual OEC coaches meeting, four Chargers were selected to the All-Conference teams for the 2018 season.

Cypress' Kayla Owens and Jane Woodward received All-Orange Empire Conference First Team honors, while teammates Ashley Corona and Marina Pilkington were selected to the All-OEC Second Team.

Sophomore outside hitter, Kayla Owens, played in 24 matches this season for the Chargers and leads the team with 338 kills and second on the team with 216 digs. Owens not only earned the honor of an All-OEC first team accolade, but she was also selected to the 2018 CCCAA All-State team. Sophomore middle blocker, Jane Woodward, comes in second for the Chargers with 194 kills, respectfully. Woodward has played in all 25 matches this season. Another sophomore to earn All-OEC honors was opposite, Marina Pilkington. Pilkington played in all 25 matches this season 109 kills 36 digs. Newcomer, freshman libero Ashley Corona, put up impressive numbers for her first season with the Chargers. Corona leads the team with 236 digs playing in 22 matches.
