CYPRESS, CA – Sophomore outside hitter Rockelle Gholson has earned Charger of the Week (Oct. 10-16) after leading Cypress to two key OEC victories against Riverside and Golden West.

Gholson twisted her ankle during the third set of the Chargers 3-0 win at home over Riverside on Wednesday. However, Cypress needed her for their game against second place Golden West two days later. Gholson, who was still recovering from her injury, contributed 10 kills and 7 digs to help lead the Chargers to a 3-0 win on the road.

The Western High School alumna is second on the team in kills (171), second in kills per set (3.11), and first in blocks (40). The Chargers are currently ranked 7th in the state and 5th in SoCal while sitting atop the Orange Empire Conference with a 16-1 overall record and a 9-0 conference record.
