Five Chargers Selected to All-Conference Team

The Orange Empire Conference put together another strong season in women's volleyball with a state-high five teams reaching the postseason. The Cypress College women's volleyball team had four All-Orange Empire Conference selections and the Co-MVP of the conference this season.

The Chargers star outside hitter, Madison May, was named Co-MVP after finishing the season atop the conference in kills per set (4.12) and kills (416). May's 416 kills rank fourth for a single season in Cypress College history. Madison May will transfer to Niagara University and play for the Purple Eagles next season.

All-First Team selections for the Chargers include freshman outside hitter Rockelle Gholson and freshman libero Emily Witz. Gholson finished second on the team in kills with 205 and second in total blocks with 60. Witz led the team in digs with 196 and digs per set with 2.51.

All-Second Team selections include sophomore middle blocker Jazmyn Covington and freshman outside hitter Dominique Parker. Covington was third in the conference averaging .77 blocks per set and led the team with 72 total blocks. Covington's 164 career blocks rank fifth in Cypress College history. Parker finished second on the team in digs with 134 and third on the team in assists with 140 for the Chargers this season.
