CYPRESS, Calif. --- Congratulations to Lindsey Ray from the Cypress College Women's Volleyball program on being named the August 31- September 7, 2014 "Charger Athlete of the Week."
The 5'8 outside hitter from Long Beach Poly High School won a CIF Championship in 2011 and was named the 2012 Press Telegram Player of the Year.
Lindsey is carrying that success over to the Cypress College program after recording 15 kills and seven digs in their quick 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-14, 25-23) over Mira Costa College on September 3.
The convincing win gave Cypress a quick 1-0 start on the 2014 season.
The Chargers will now travel to face Citrus College tonight in Glendora at 6:00 pm.
The next Cypress home game is set for September 17 at 7:00 pm vs. El Camino College.
