Jeff Benito has made a return to Cypress College as the head tennis coach. Benito previously served as the Chargers' head coach from 2007-2011 where he began as the men's coach before inheriting the women's program in 2010.

Benito brought both teams to new heights with the help of Michelle Esquivel-Sutherland. Coach Benito fielded a competitive women's team along with a men's team that won three consecutive Orange Empire Conference Championships (2009-2011). He led Torsten Keil-Long and Oliver Andrzejczuk to a 2011 CCCAA State Doubles Championship and was recognized for having the highest team GPA in the state among men's tennis teams. He produced two All-American's and 23 All-Conference players.

After leaving Cypress, Benito spent three seasons at McPherson College (KS) as head coach of the men's and women's tennis teams. Benito led the women's team to their first Conference Championship in 30 years and the men's team finished second in each of his three seasons. He was a two-time Conference Coach of the Year and two-time Region Coach of the Year.

Benito spent the last two seasons as head men's tennis coach at Cowley County Community College (KS). In his first year at Cowley, Coach Benito propelled the Tigers to a 2nd place finish at the Region Tournament and an 8th place finish at the National Tournament.

Coach Benito graduated from Riverside Community College with an Associate's Degree in Psychology then went on to the University of La Verne where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Movement and Sport Science. He earned his Master's Degree in Kinesiology from California Baptist University.
